Your Jcr > JCR Meetings
JCR Meetings happen on the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th Sundays of term, at 7.30pm in the JCR.
At the meetings, we get together and discuss issues that people would like to raise, by proposing motions. In addition to democracy, there is free pizza!
If you would like to propose a motion, you need to e-mail it to the Vice president by midnight on the Thursday preceeding the meeting.
The motions are usually in the following format:
'This JCR notes:'
Short facts relating to what you are proposing, e.g.:
1. Nikki likes hamsters
2. Nikki wants a pet.
'This JCR believes'
Non-factual reasons why JCR members should vote for your motion, e.g.:
1. Nikki's desire for small rodent pets should be fulfilled.
'This JCR Resolves:'
Essentially what you actually want to happen, e.g.:
1. To give Nikki £200 for the purchase of a pedigree golden hamster.
