Class Rep

Hey, I’m Georgia (she/her), I study psychology and I’m the class rep! I represent any students who are state-comp educated, first gen, from a lower-income household or in receipt of bursary support, working class, a care leaver, or estranged.

Whatever your background is, I’m here to reassure you that Corpus is the place for you and you are welcome here. I organise social events to encourage people to meet people from a variety of backgrounds, such as joint-college pizza and rounders, as well as welfare events such as class tea (where I bake a lot of cakes for everyone and people can come to relax/have a chat).

I’m a firm believer that class is a conversation everyone should be a part of and that integration of students from all backgrounds is really important, so everyone is always welcome at my events, and I really encourage anyone to come even if you feel none of the areas I represent apply to you. And those areas are definitely not a checklist – even if only one applies to you, remember that just because there are people less privileged than you, this doesn’t mean you aren’t worthy of support or a voice on class issues!

I’m always happy to talk about anything class-related, so if you have any questions, suggestions, concerns or just want a chat, please send me a message! 🙂 My email is georgia.avery@ccc.ox.ac.uk, or you can message me on Facebook.
