The JCR Welfare Officers fulfil a supporting role for the entire JCR. They are committed to give you whatever time and assistance they can provide which between them is substantial.

They have several duties at  the college as part of this position. Firstly they will provide you with information and guidance to a further source assistance upon an enormous range of issues such as sexual health, bereavement support, street safety at night, drug abuse, contraceptives, allergy advice and much much more, covering all that may affect a student during the time at the university. They also act as a source of information for all Welfare services provided by the University and those available within Oxford.

Secondly, they act as a hub for welfare services within the College, frequently communicating with the College nurse, the Tutor for Welfare, the College doctors and dentists, the Tutor for Women and the Peer Supporters, and will be able to guide to the appropriate person should you be unsure who to talk to.

It is also the duty of the Welfare Officers to provide free condoms, pregnancy tests to the JCR, though a range of items affecting sexual health are available at request.
